FEP & PFA heat shrinkable roll covers can be applied to metal or rubber rollers using a simple hot air gun. Therefore, the machine down time can be just minutes compared with days when sending rollers away for a sprayed non-stick coating.
The thickness of our FEP and PFA roll covers is normally 0.5mm, compared with 0.005mm of a sprayed-on PTFE roller coating, and the cost is comparable or even less.
Alternatively, our experienced staff will fit our heat shrinkable FEP roll covers to rollers of any size in our workshop or at your premises.
We are also able to custom manufacture virtually any size for special applications in single quantities.
If the FEP roll covers are to be bonded to the roller, the inside surface needs an etching treatment to make it bondable.
The chemical etching process is normally carried out to order on FEP roll covers that are held in stock. Find out more about our Fluoroplastic Chemical Etching Service.
For more arduous and extremely high temperature applications, such as laminating paper to polyethylene and extrusions, we recommend the use of PFA roll covers, as their flex life is 10 times that of FEP roll covers and their working temperature is 250°C.

We were contacted by an equipment supplier of steel brake discs to the auto industry in Australia. They needed a non-stick coating for their stainless-steel rollers.
