PUNCHED PARTS

Adtech can produce custom punched parts from a wide range of flexible and semi-rigid sheet materials, manufactured to your drawing or from an existing sample.

We can provide the complete service, including material and punch tooling, or work with material and tooling already owned by the customer and free issued to us.

Parts can be produced in a variety of shapes and sizes, with the maximum material thickness dependent on the density and specification of the material being punched.

Materials we can punch

Our punching capabilities cover fluoropolymers alongside a range of other plastics, elastomers and flexible materials.

Materials currently processed include:

The thickness that can be successfully punched varies between materials according to their density and construction.

If you have a different material or thickness requirement, our team can review the specification and advise on suitability.

How are punched parts produced?

Punched components are produced using a clicker press and a punch tool manufactured to the required profile.

The tool is positioned over the sheet material and the press applies the force required to cut the component cleanly from the material. This makes punching suitable for producing repeatable profiles ranging from simple discs, washers and strips through to more complex custom shapes.

Adtech can arrange the manufacture of punch tooling for a new component. Where a customer already owns suitable tooling, this can also be free issued to us for production.

Material Supply or Punching-Only Service

Customers can choose the level of support they need.

Adtech can supply the material and manufacture the finished punched components, providing one point of supply for the complete requirement.

Alternatively, customers can free issue their own sheet material to Adtech and use us purely as a punching service. Existing customer-owned punch tooling can also be used where suitable.

This flexibility allows the punching process to fit around an existing supply chain as easily as it can form part of a completely new component requirement.

Punched Part Sizes

Our punching capability includes:

Circular components up to 400 mm diameter
Custom shapes and profiles up to 400 mm x 500 mm

The achievable thickness will depend on the material selected, so requirements should be assessed according to the particular material, grade and component design.

Parts can be manufactured from a customer drawing or an existing component sample.

Custom Punched Components

From straightforward washers and flat profiles to more intricate punched and scored components, the process can be adapted to suit a wide range of component designs.

Our experience working with fluoropolymers and other engineering materials means we can also support projects where material selection, tooling or the final component geometry requires additional technical input.
