The Application
Adtech was asked to manufacture a bespoke PVC assembly.
As part of the finished assembly, the customer required a flange gasket manufactured from heavy-duty 1400 gsm reinforced PVC sheet.
The gasket needed to match the profile of the mating component and form part of a larger fabricated PVC assembly.
The Challenge
The requirement involved more than producing the punched gasket alone.
The finished component also incorporated a flexible PVC tube and a separate tube connector, meaning the different parts needed to be manufactured and brought together as one finished assembly.
The Solution
Adtech punched the reinforced PVC sheet to create a flange gasket matching the required mating profile.
The gasket was then attached to a tube manufactured from 0.25 mm thick PVC sheet, with an internal diameter of 200 mm and an overall length of 600 mm.
A PVC tube connector manufactured from 3 mm ID x 1 mm wall PVC tube was also welded into the assembly.
The Result
The customer received a finished PVC assembly incorporating the punched flange gasket, fabricated tube and welded connector.
The project demonstrates how Adtech can combine punched components with welding and fabrication processes to produce complete assemblies for specialist applications.
