Geo-Shrink® heat shrink sleeving

Geo-Shrink® heat shrink is designed for unconsolidated and friable reservoir sediment core analysis.

Geo-Shrink® sleeving is made from special fluoropolymers, which were developed in 1992 and have gained acceptance with a wide circle of core analysis contractors, oil company exploration and production research laboratories.

Geo-Shrink® is available in a wide range of sizes, from 31mm to 160mm ID, and 0.50mm and 0.70mm thickness. We can also offer custom under expanded sizes cut to length, for specific testing applications. Find our standard Geo-Shrink® Heat Shrink Sleeving Sizes.

Geo-Shrink® Core Sleeves

The mounting technique in conjunction with un-sintered PTFE wrap offers a significant advancement from malleable metal foil tubes for the ease of mounting frozen and punch cut plugs.

When the end-faces of plugs are protected with a combination of fine and course stainless steel screens and retained by Geo-Shrink®, the resultant assembly can be safely subjected to extensive solvent extraction, drying and subsequent core analysis in a series of increasing complexity.

Geo-Shrink® Heat Shrink Unique Properties

  • Can be shrunk onto frozen, punched and standard core plugs

  • Temperature stable in live crude and reservoir brine to 200 °C

  • Relatively low shrinkage temperature

  • Completely unaffected by simulation brine

  • Stable specific gravity

  • Transparent
