We worked with a pharmaceutical customer to create a bespoke FEP tubing assembly. Used to deliver fluids in a laboratory application, our customer required custom fittings and a 180° bend along the length of the tube.
We manufactured FEP tubing assemblies by applying free-issue injection moulded fittings to FEP tubes. We also formed a 180° bend along the length of the tube.
Used for solvent delivery in a laboratory application, the FEP tubing assemblies were thermoformed into orientation to take into consideration the tube route through the equipment. The tubing had strict volumetric tolerances we closely followed in order to control the volume of fluids through the tube.
For this project, FEP was chosen for its resistance to solvents, as well as its biocompatibility, lubricity and sterilisation properties. In addition, FEP can easily be moulded and thermoformed into complex profiles, and for this specific project, a bend can be easily added to the tubing.
Any PTFE, FEP, PFA and PVDF tubing can be converted to create custom preformed tubing assemblies that meet your exact requirements. Any size and length of tube can be provided, alongside bespoke fittings, to suit your needs.
The sourced or free-issue fitting can be joined to the tubing by adding a flange, collar or flare, or a flangeless fitting with a stop end can be applied. The tubing can also be bagged as kits to meet your packing requirements.
Using thermoforming, flaring, flanging and welding techniques, custom designs can be added to your fluoroplastic tubing:
Formed tips
Moulded tips and collars
Heat shrinkable collars
Bends along the length of the tube
Swages between multiple sized tubes
Retractable coils
