We’re delighted to announce that we now offer a new range of fluoropolymer roll cover sleeves that are produced using a special method that changes the shrink characteristics compared to standard ARC FEP and PFA roll cover sleeves.
These roll covers are designed to enable our clients to install larger diameter sleeves over their rollers in house. Removing the need to either send these to the Adtech Lochgelly site for sleeving or booking a fitting for the Adtech team at your site. Thereby reducing your carbon footprint and saving costs.
Once heated these ‘UltraFit©’ sleeves perform in a different manner to our standard ‘ARC’ FEP and PFA roll cover sleeves, as they do not grow in length. This removes the need for stretchers to take the slack out of the material to ensure a perfect ‘shrink fit’ over the roller. This enables the process to be carried out by less experienced installers, improves the application time, and reduces scrap due to the incorrect application of sleeves.
‘UltraFit©’ sleeves are designed for use with bespoke rollers such as ‘C’ or ‘Banana’ rollers. These styles of roller are normally spray coated with PTFE which is not as robust and leads to more regular maintenance and replacement of the coating. The spray coating service must be done off site and leads to longer down time and higher transportation costs.
Adtech’s heat shrinkable fluoropolymer ‘UltraFit©’ roll covers benefit from unique properties, including high resistance to temperature, chemicals, and low friction and non-toxic features. Thanks to these exceptional properties our range of ‘UltraFit©’ FEP and PFA roll covers offer many benefits:
· Highly non-stick/release surface
· Eliminates sticky build up reducing downtime and maintenance.
· Excellent chemical and corrosion resistance
· Extremely high working temperature of 200 °C or 250 °C
· Reduced fitting time.
· Reduction of scrap
· Designed to be used with bespoke roller designs – ‘C’ or ‘banana’ shaped rollers.
The longevity of FEP and PFA is also excellent, being suitable for long-term use in both hot and cold environments with minimal long-term deterioration. In contrast to a sprayed-on PTFE roller coating of 0.005mm in thickness, which is used with metal rollers, FEP and PFA roll covers are typically much sturdier and more durable at 0.5mm in thickness. As such, these fluoropolymers work much more efficiently for a comparable or even reduced price.
For more arduous and extremely high temperature applications, PFA roll covers have a flex life of ten times FEP and can withstand temperatures of up to 250°C (as opposed to 200°C with FEP).
