We're delighted to be able to support the UoP Racing Team for another season!
We supplied UoP Racing a range of smooth bore metric PTFE tube with ID's that ranged from 2mm to 4mm and varying wall thicknesses. Here is the thank you letter we received from the UoP Racing Team:
UoP Racing Team was created in 2002 at the University of Patras under the supervision of the Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation (LMS), of the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics. The team consists exclusively of students, aiming to study and build a Formula car. Our goal is to participate in competitions and win the best possible position among top universities. Counting 15 years of continuous participation in the competition makes us one of the most experienced teams.
The Formula Student (FS) is the world's most established training engineering contest. This competition aims to develop and train talented young engineers, offering intensive experience in the field of design and construction, as well as examining the economic aspects of the automotive industry.
A few students with dreams, positive attitude and eagerness for work decided in 2002 to launch this enormous effort, making the impossible, possible. The latest UoP3Evo an internal combustion engine car, travels transatlantic and makes UoP Racing known in the United States. But our success does not stop here. Our undergraduate students of the Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineering Department in 2014 took first place in the Czech Repuplic (FSCzech) competition with the first electric car in Greece and the recognition of our team was launched among the best and most competitive Polytechnic Schools in the world. The team's distinctions are becoming more and more recent by our participation in the United Kingdom competition (FSUK 2017), winning the 10th place among the 125 mixed and the first among the electric cars. For this season, the UoP Racing Team is rapidly preparing for the German competition by designing and manufacturing the UoP6e, the latest and most innovative electric racecar.
The PTFE tubes that you sent us will be used on UoP6e and more specifically on our rear wing. This year our rear wing will be featured with a Drag Reduction System (DRS), in which an airfoil rotates in order to lower the drag of the racecar. The PTFE tubes will help the rotating parts of the mechanism by reducing the friction between them.
We would like to warmly thank your company for your generous offer. You are helping us to achieve our goals and make our dream come true in the best possible ways.
Thank you,
